My Girl

My girl has been a little envious of her brothers "starring" role in his movie...fortunately, she was able to be an extra in the funeral scene, and realizes there's not much glory! During one of our breaks her dad embellished us both with handmade "jewelry". It's true all girls love jewelry - even the kind made from roots.

Action!

As you may know, my boy is in a movie that is being directed by a senior at the college for his Senior Project. Filming began last weekend, with one day spent at a local cemetery. The director needed some extras for this scene so the whole family got to be in the movie. I know, I know I'm suppose to be a proud Mama & that of course my boy is a great actor...blah, blah, blah... but I'm serious when I tell you this... he was so good it was scary! Watching at him during the funeral scene he had my heart breaking! I kept reminding myself that he was just pretending, that he wasn't really sad...his Mama wasn't really dead...

Then as soon as the director yelled "CUT!" back was my sweet little boy...wanting to "free run" but that, my friends, is another post...

lava

For my boy's 6th birthday he said all he wanted was a lava lamp...that's right a lava lamp! Apparently, the one in the beach house we stayed at last summer left an impression! So, I did what every other good mother does - I hit Amazon.com & found purchased a lava lamp! Of course I had to pay extra shipping because I did what every busy mom does...waited until the last minute! Needless to say the lava lamp arrived & was a big hit! We have all enjoyed watching it's "lava" errupt.

Sleepy

This is how I found my boy last night when I went in to check on him before I went to bed. I walked into the room and only could see the back of his head, I thought he was wide awake looking at something...turns out he was sound asleep! I think he may have inherited my sleeping skills - able to sleep through anything & any way! Lucky Boy!

The birthday festivities continue with planning & organizing the the big six year old birthday party, which takes place tomorrow... I think we're going to have lots of fun!

I'm not the only one that feels this sweet girl has been neglected during her brother's birthday festivities...it's hard to be excited about your brother's birthday, watch him get all the attention, gifts & cards and then all you get is a cupcake...

Part II

If you've followed my blog at all you've seen this Montessori ritual several times - the child walks around the candle (sun) carrying the "world" the number of times he's circled the sun. Apparently, it's a big deal that my boy circled the sun SIX times...most kids leave this school for public kindergarten, whereas my boy is completing his kindergarten at Montessori (and then some??)

Can't you see how much he loves & trusts his teacher by the way he is looking at her? He loves Ms. Teresa!

the big day!

Well, we had a full day yesterday, celebrating my boy's sixth birthday! Here's a recap...

It started with a birthday breakfast, birthday cupcake & birthday ring (nice flame, huh?)

Attack Cat

Here's a recent picture of our attack cat...Skyper. My poor girl is covered in scratches literally from her head to her toes! But, those Skratches don't stop her from lovin' on that cat - me on the other hand...I don't tolerate his ankle bits & scratches quite as well...much to his chagrin!!

Cafe'

I really love coffee! Hot & super strong (just like my men...heh, heh!). I'm not sure I completely trust folks who don't enjoy coffee...I'm just sayin'... tea has it's place - in ice... Coke in the morning? Wimp! Come on - woman up - make your self a nice, hot cup of this wonderful brew. Put lots of sugar & creamer in it if you have to - just embrace the love that is coffee.
