A keeper
This is my new, all time favorite! I could just eat her up!
This image makes me cry, looking at it I realize that my little girl won't be so little much longer! I know that one day soon I am not going to see those chubby hands and knees. Instead, I'll see a long legged, lanky girl with painted nails. A girl who probably isn't easily impressed with a blue egg.

Rare Spider Lily
We took the kids on a hike today, that is after spending $27 stinkin' dollars at Starbucks for breakfast...what were we thinking? Can you say economic stimulus check??? kidding, sorta...anyway back to our hike. We went to a nature preserve about 30 minutes or so to see the rare Spider Lilies blooming. What a cool site, in the middle of a river there were these massive clumps of lilies, but only in about a 1/4 mile stretch. It was fabulous - what a treat! The kids had a blast playing in the water and on the rocks. We all had a pretty good time, save the ticks...

Preacher
I have a confession to make... I'm sleeping with my minister...
For many of you, especially the ones I knew prior to July 9th, 2001, the idea that one day I would be married to a man of the cloth is an ironic one to say the least. And as hard as it for me to believe, it's true, my husband is a part-time minister for a small, local United Methodist Church. A wonderful congregation made up of lovely folks who have welcomed my family into their church!
Today we had services in our backyard because our temporary home had a prior commitment.

Urchin
Yesterday I had a family portrait session and due to lack of child care (husband had to work) I brought my lovelies with me. They had the BEST time! We were out in the country, there were dogs galore, tractors, wide open spaces, great old barns and loads of photo opportunities. Unfortunately, by the time I got around to photographing my children they were wearing the effects of a good time!

last day...
Today was the end of the year picnic for Montessori - we had a wonderful potluck lunch and got to say goodbye to our friends for the summer. The greatest part was "Amy-Lee" walking around and asking his 3, 4 & 5 year old friends to sign his "autograph" book! He has become obsessed with writing, it's all he wants to do! He'll sit, literally for hours, writing on sheets of paper, using up my $1 store envelopes, stuffing them full of his notes for those that he loves. Granna went home with a stack of them, Jack has his share & Matt should be expecting some too!

Nuts!
I'm sure y'all have been wondering where I've been...well, the husband & I went down to St. Augustine, FLA for my good friend Maureen's wedding. On our way down we drove through South GA, home of the peanut... something that we don't get to enjoy much because "Amy-Lee" is allergic to peanuts. Needless to say we endulged ourselves and split a big ole cup of Georgia's finest boiled peanuts...yum, yum, yum!

New Species
My son, the ornithologist, has discovered a new bird species in our backyard. It seems to be nesting in an azalea bush. The blue bird makes a strange "cheeping" noise when it's belly is pressed. We aren't sure if it's a native species, although, we suspect it may have come from China.
