We are still away on vacation - but I've had a request & here's one for our friend in Nashville! Yesterday we went on a day trip to Charleston - which is a great city...unless it's hot, humid & you have 2 cranky, hungry children... still we managed to sneak in some fun, a few t-shirts and a romp in a local children's fountain. I also enjoyed snapping some photos of my beautiful family & was struck by how often folks offered to take our family picture...at first I'd gently refused and then after a second of thinking about it I decided..."why not?" So, I quickly accepted & then accepted the next time & the next time. Whatta ya know? Picutres of ME & my family! Hope everyone is doing well! Holiday...

We are on holiday - and having a fabulous time! Despite our original plans being dramatically changed we are pushing forward... Right now we are in Brunswick visiting some sweet friends who graciously agreed to put up with our crew for a few days! Yesterday was spent with the turtles on Jekyll Island and today was spent painting pottery & on Saint Simons.

Tonight Amy Lee & I were leaving the pier on St. Simons & someone had caught a shark. He asked me...

"Mom, how do they catch sharks? By sharkin'?"

...is driving us crazy! I think I'm definitely in over my head regarding this parenting thing... I've peaked with my skills! From here on out I am winging it! And drinking!

Summer Fun!

After our photo shoot with Livie & Lexie we found an awesome water park downtown! After working so hard with me the girls had earned some time splashing around!

This past week I went to my Mom's where I had the fantastic opportunity to do 6 photo shoots! I took Lou with me on the one with my good friend, Dena & her 2 girls. Normally I can't get Lou to pose for me, but after watching me cajole Dean's two girls she couldn't resist! And how I could I resist her posing?

MIA

Usually if I don't post something after a couple of days it's a good guess that I am out of town! Which is the case for this recent lapse of posts! Lou & I went to visit my mother & to do a little work, but more on that later! Here's Lou with her Granna - she truly is crazy about her!

After our town's little parade we headed up to the mountains for a surprise birthday party for this old man! All four of his brothers came in from all over the US & Costa Rica. We had a great weekend with lots of food, drink and guitar playing!

Home again...

We were so heartbroken about our friends/neighbors moving (albeit less than a mile away) that we had to leave town for several days... I think we'll be alright - change is good - but we'll sure miss spying on our old neighbors!

Fire safety

Tonight we celebrated our friend Jack's birthday. Jack is Coo-Coo for anything fireman related - so his Mom asked a local fireman to come by the party & give the kids some fire safety tips - they were enthralled - and maybe a little intimidated...

Meals on Wheels

We have been delivering Meals on Wheels for a couple of months now! My kids love it! I know the little old ladies giving them candy has nothing to do with that fact...

He swears those gloves "really make me a superhero!" That scares me a little... Although the other day when my FOUR year old BABY - JUMPED from the HIGH dive at the pool he wasn't wearing those gloves...

Weekend Wedding

This weekend, the husband had the privilege of performing a wedding ceremony for two crazy kids from the college...this provided us the perfect opportunity to dress up & practice our wedding etiquette...right...and I'm not talking about the kids, but that's a story for another blog.

Anyway, since we were all dressed up in our seersucker finest, we thought we would attempt some family pictures...below you'll find a testament to the trouble we went through...the way those kids were screaming you'd think we'd just told them that Diego & Dora had been in a horrific bus accident travelling through the Andes.

3. Thinking about my husband and 2 kids driving home in our new car
