State park

I think we are finally out of the woods! But, I'm telling you...it was harsh! Sick for a solid week! And then the icing on the cake...today was a school holiday!

We did enjoy a day at the near-by state park yesterday! We hiked & then just hung out around the pond - next time we need to remember to bring food for the geese & ducks!

Do you ever get that overwhelming urge to crawl in bed with your sleeping loved ones & just love all over them? Hug and kiss them into a deep slumber and sweet dreams? Protect them with your will? I do...

Pity this poor fool!

I long for this day in this picture...when I didn't have a fever, when every inch of my body didn't ache, I didn't have this horrible cough, I could breathe out of my nose, oh...and my husband didn't feel this shitty either! There should be some law of the universe that states that at no consecutive time will parents of young children feel this crappy at the same time... back to bed for me - I have a date with some Sudafed PM.......

Cheers to Monkey Joe's!

Today, we officially celebrated our Boy's 5th birthday at Monkey Joe's - a giant building filled with inflatable, jumpy, sliding things...a kids dream & a parents nightmare! No, actually it was a dream for me! This was the first time in the 5 years that I've been doing birthday parties that I completely outsourced everything! The location, the pizza, the cake (more on that later), the invitations (sorta), even the balloons & goody bags! In the end, all I had to do was write one, big check! And, let me tell you it was the best money I've spent in a long time! Plus, as an added bonus the kids had a fantastic time and my house stayed clean!!

Birthday Boy!

Before I get to the weeks, exciting events, I need to start with this Boy's 5th birthday breakfast! We left earlier this week for DC (there were some festivities we wanted to participate in...) and our precious, sweet friends, the Walter's agreed to keep our babies for the 2 days we were to be gone. We were to leave NC that a.m. for DC, but not before we had some Birthday Pancakes! He was a real trooper - he didn't mind that his Mom & Dad were headed off on the 5th anniversary of his arrival into our world...As a matter of fact, that morning, I was trying to cuddle with him, whisper sweet birthday wishes to him, when he turned to me & not so sweetly said..."I'm ready for y'all to go!"

Yesterday was a pretty exciting day around here...after 18 long months our church is now ready for its inhabitants! While it's not completely finished...it's pretty darn close. I'm actually very proud of my husband! Many, many times he came home tired & frustrated with the whole process...but look at it now! A bright, open place ready for some renewed energy and faith! Can I get an "Amen?"

I recently got an iPhone...can I tell you how much I love this little piece of technology? It's especially iRonic since I'm not sure iF there could be two less technical savvy folks than me & the husband...needless to say - we are officially addicted - alright I am...but he would be too if I would let him have iT every now & then!


I love the camera feature! I've never understoond peoples obsession with their camera phones...until now! Beware - you may start receiving random e.mails from me with pictures...
