May Day

I realize that we are a couple of days ahead of this celebration, but we are never ones to hold back! Yesterday we got together with some friends to create these beautiful May Flower Tussies. Once we put ours together my May Fairies secretly delivered them to special friends in our lives!

Farmer Marys

Last Friday we went with Lou's class to visit Farmer Mary's goats! We had the best time as is evident in this little video I put together!

Forsythia

I'm not sure why, but that last picture is my favorite of this series! I especially love these images because of that little leather purse she is wearing...I too wore that purse many, many years ago! I can clearly remember the day my parents gave me that purse, we were living in Germany and attended a craft bazaar on the Army post. My Mom actually got the exact same purse, only in an adult size! It was super special to me, because if you lift up the front flap you'll see the letters L & A stamped into the leather - those are my initials & believe me, to that 4 or 5 year old...that was awesome! Who ever thought nearly 40 years later my own child would collect goodies with it!

Waldorf Mom

You know that you're a Waldorf Mom when your daughter comes home & tells you that she wants a Spring Lady and you can whip one up in three days or less!! Ta-Da!!

Jump roping

The past few days I've had the privilege of making some images for the kids school and their yearbook. It's been a neat experience, seeing bits & pieces of our wonderful school. My favorite part today was being able to watch Lou on the playground today! I caught this wonderful image while she was jump roping - her latest achievement!

Spring Equinox

Yesterday we celebrated the Spring Equinox with some friends! Although it may seem early to begin dying Easter Eggs these colorful eggs will help us both celebrate the coming of Spring and anticipate Easter! The celebration also included a birthday party for the "Girls" responsible for the lovely eggs we dyed! Nothing says "Happy Birthday" like a wheat grass birthday cake!

Drummer Boy

I'm not sure if I haven't updated lately because we've been so busy or just slack? The time change really has thrown us for a loop! When it's still bright & sunny outside my kids have a harder time understanding why they have to come in for the day at 6:00pm! They are both so excited about the changing weather - One of them is always pointing out flower buds & green grasses declaring "A sign of Spring!"

The other day we joined some friends for a quick trip to the zoo. While waiting for the rest of our party my boy met this gentleman drumming outside the gate...he didn't have to be asked twice if he'd like a chance to drum...

DJ Mom

Many of you know that Moms wear many, many hats...cook, bottle washer, birthday planner, chauffeur and on & on... This morning I realized I was wearing another hat...a much cooler hat than bottle washer... I am a CD spinning, button pushing, knob turning DJ! That's right, every morning & afternoon my children shout out their requests as I boogie our way to and from school. Fortunately for me, my kids have good taste in music...right now our play list includes Alanis Morissette, U2, Amos Lee, Tyler Lyle and Liam Finn - some mornings I feel as cool as Samantha Ronson - but without having to deal with Lindsay Lohan!

Park Picnic

Last night we decided to have dinner in the park - really a great idea on my part...not just for the obvious, but also b/c I didn't have to come home & clean a dirty kitchen!!

Our lovely Jazz who joined us for dinner this evening!

One of our attempts at a personal project I am working on... It's never easy to get an image with all 4 of us, especially when I am wearing a skirt, jumping up and setting the timer & trying to gracefully run back, lie down & look natural...skillz baby, I've got 'em! Now if I could just center the image properly...

Prerogative

This boy...daily, we see him growing up before our eyes! There is nothing that we can do, he's like a freight train heading towards his own...it's scary, exciting and nerve wracking all at once! He really makes us proud!

I often debate with myself what to publish on this blog...more pictures of my kids, more posts about how much I love these kids? Don't folks get tired about reading how cute, smart, amazing and precious I think my two WÜNDER kids are? But, just now I had another thought...who cares? My blog, my kids, my prerogative!

Skyper

You would think that this cat would appreciate how good he has it...he doesn't! He regularly wakes us up in the middle of the night - either he wants to go out or in or just wants to cuddle (at 3am mind you). I guess he does show his appreciation...by way of headless squirrels...thanks, but no thanks!

All I know is that he is lucky that she puts up with him...even with his scratches and ignoring ways.

Incognito

I am not sure if you can recognize him or not - but that's my boy incognito... I'm not sure if you know this - or if I should even tell you for that matter...but he is a spy. If you ever see him (not that you would notice, he's that good) lurking around - put up your secrets...he's spying!

Or pretending to be Shaggy from Scooby-Doo...

Nerve Pill

How do you go from this...

to this...in a matter of a week?

Easy - bump heads with your friend!

Can I just tell you that this Mama does not do blood well? I really don't think people believe me, rather, they use to not believe me!
Never has the phrase..."Mama needs to lie down & take a nerve pill" ever have more meaning then after I pushed my baby's teeth back up into her mouth!

It wasn't until the next day when she visited our dentist that she looked like this. Thank goodness we find her cute with or without teeth!

Pocket Knife

Well, it's official...I now have a SEVEN year old! Don't ask me how this happened - it all has gone so fast!! Everyday I wish time would slow down so that I can preserve these babies of mine...but it hasn't happened yet!

So, for his SEVENTH birthday he asked for a pocket knife - which I guess is a rite of passage for a boy - plus I'd just read a book that said that it was an age appropriate gift. You can imagine his joy when he opened up his present & saw that his birthday wish had come true. His Dad & I went over our strict rules re: knife usage...we keep the knife when it's not in use, he has to ask Mom or Dad for permission to use it and Mom or Dad have to supervise it's use...

However, the point of all those rules is moot when this happens...

Yes, he cut his finger the VERY 1st time he used his knife! And yes, he had asked for permission to use it & was under the direct supervision of his father when this happened...AGH!! It's just like that movie A Christmas Story all over again!!! But in our case it's "No pocket knife, you'll cut your finger off!"

Fortunately for my boy (and me) the cut wasn't quite so bad...

Snow Day #5

My view right now! One in front of me & one on the side...I do think we are going to venture out for a bite of lunch at a neighborhood pizzeria, then string some popcorn for the birds and the highlight of my day...a movie with my husband...

Snow Day #4

In case y'all were wondering how we coped on Snow Day
FOUR. I have a little pictorial for you...

We met up with friends & neighbors and headed to our newest neighborhood coffee house. They'd put the word out that they were having Hot Chocolate & Coloring.

My kids were so grateful to be out of the house!

Saved by the three C's..
.Coloring, Crepes & Hot Chocolate.

Heading home & saying our goodbyes.

One more of my precious, precious babies!
